Oregon senior Cooper Teare took second in the elite section of the men's 5,000 meters at the Sound Running Track Meet. Teare clocked 13:17.13, the fastest time ever achieved by an Oregon athlete on U.S. soil and elevating him to No. 3 in program history, on the Ducks' all-dates rankings. Eric Jenkins clocked 13:07.33 in 2015 in Belgium and Bill McChesney ran 13:14.80 in 1982 in Switzerland, with Teare moving ahead of Will Geoghegan (13:17.85) and Edward Cheserek (13:18.71). Teare's mark would rank him as the No. 5 seasonal performer in NCAA Division 1 history.
