Van Klinken achieved an outdoor personal-best 62-5 (19.02m) in the second round to secure victory, with Ross producing an opening-round effort of 59-11 (18.26m), as both athletes secured their berths in the June 8 final at the Division 1 championship meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
