Not Just Any Olympic Medal, Oregon's Devon Allen is Going for GoldPublished by the Statesman Journal on July 30, 2016 As Devon Allen prepares for the world stage, his goal is clear: “I’m going for the gold.” Allen, who just finished his sophomore season at Oregon, will compete in the 110-meter hurdles for the U.S. track team at the Olympic Games, and while many athletes talk about just winning a medal, he is focused on winning it all. “People always talk about medaling, you know, go and medal. But I always just think about winning,” Allen said. “Obviously, I want to win the gold medal. Any medal would be cool, but I’m going for the gold, for sure.” It has been a long road to the Olympics for Allen, who also is a wide receiver on the Oregon football team.
