Pendergast transfers from Harvard to Oregon By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Judy Pendergast announced Wednesday via Instagram that she has switched schools, moving from Harvard of the Ivy League to the University of Oregon of the Pac-12 Conference. In her freshman year at Harvard, Pendergast qualified for the the NCAA Cross Country Championships and won a Heps title in the indoor 5,000 meters. She ran 15:52.64 indoors but did not improve her time outdoors. Pendergast finished second in the 3,000 meters at the USATF Junior Championships but did not compete at the Pan Am U-20 Championships in Peru. At Oregon, she joins the program that won the 2016 NCAA Championship and a team led by sophomore Katie Rainsberger. Oregon released news of its big incoming class, which includes 10 transfers. Pendergast is the second Harvard distance runner to transfer to the Pac-12 during the offseason, along with All-American Courtney Smith to Stanford. More news |
